In order for you to be eligible to join MACP as a writer or publisher member, you must meet one of the following criteria : - Your music is published by a person or company that carries on business as a music publisher;
- Your music has been publicly performed (on radio, television, in concert, clubs, etc), and that performance is licensed by MACP.

Music Authors' Copyright Protection (MACP) Berhad was incorporated as a public company limited by guarantee in September 1989 and today has a membership of over 2,400 and has in its control and ownership in excess of 50,000 pieces of local musical works.
In addition, by virtue of reciprocal agreements with other foreign performing rights societies, MACP also represents more than two million international composers, lyricists and publishers and controls for Malaysia in excess of 12 million pieces of musical works from all over the world. The purpose of this website is to explain to users of copyright music their legal responsibilities and MACP's role in administering the rights vested in copyright owners under the Copyright Act of 1987. The contents of this website are by no means comprehensive and further information concerning the objectives and functions of MACP may be obtained on request from the Licensing Department.
