15th Annual MACP Awards

The 15th annual MACP Awards was held on 3rd December 2010 at Hotel Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur with the Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives & Consumerism, YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri b Yaakob gracing the event as the Guest-of-Honour.

The awards ceremony saw the conferment of 9 awards based on the royalty collection and 2 special awards, namely the Nadi Cipta Award for an outstanding individual for his achievement and contribution to the local music scene and the Most Promising Young Composer Award. As a show of appreciation, personalities from radio stations ie Linda Onn & Halim Othman (Suria FM), Mustaza Maah & Noraini Ibnu (RTM), Isma Halil & Rezlynn (THR Gegar), Suraya & Ikhwan (Hot FM) and Abby Fana & Rustam (Sinar FM) were invited to present the awards.

This year’s theme “Menyusur Masa” took the audience down memory lane with performances by L Ramlee (Dara Pujaan); Hail Amir & Uji Rashid (Antara Matamu dan Mataku); Razis Ismail (Kepulangan) and Zur Eda (Lama Tak Jumpa). Popular young artist Aizat sang “Susun Silang Kata”,the single from his latest album and Soo Wincci who sang “Ying Guang” added more glamour to the event. The opening act showcased performances by Sohaimi Mior Hassan, Ana Rafalli & Altimet with the popular radio friendly “Kalau Berpacaran”, a song composed at this year’s Cipta Ekspres organized by MACP. A special tribute performance by Pacai, Saari Amri, Adnan Abu Hassan, Tam Spider, Taja (Meet Uncle Hussein) and Aidit Alfian who sang a medley of M Nasir’s songs closed the show that night.
